A new Star Wars movie directed by Jon Favreau will be going into production later this year; the project is entitled The Mandalorian & Grogu. Currently, it is not clear where Favreau’s new film will fit into the Disney+ series The Mandalorian’s timeline. On the upcoming film, Favreau stated, “I have loved telling stories set in the rich world that George Lucas created…The prospect of bringing the Mandalorian and his apprentice Grogu to the big screen is extremely exciting.”
Favreau’s film will be the latest movie installment in the Star Wars franchise since 2019’s Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Along with Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, the president of Lucasfilm, and Dave Filoni, the creator of Ahsoka, will be producing The Mandalorian & Grogu.
