John Leguizamo as Eumaeus in Christopher Nolan's 'The Odyssey'

John Leguizamo, most recently known for his crucial supporting role as Eumaeus in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, and his role in the first two John Wick movies, has officially been cast in Joseph Kosinski’s Miami Vice 85. According to several sources corroborated by The Hollywood Reporter, Leguizamo is set to play the film’s antagonist. He joins a cast led by Michael B. Jordan and Austin Butler. The rest of the cast includes Alden Ehrenreich, Whitney Peak, Camila Morrone, and Danny Ramirez.

Joseph Kosinski, best known for Top Gun: Maverick and most recently for 2025’s F1, is directing from a script written by Dan Gilroy and Eric Warren Singer. The film is based on the 80s TV series of the same name created by Anthony Yerkovich. Kosinski is producing the film, as is Dylan Clark, who is producing through his studio, Dylan Clark Production. The film is being Filmed For IMAX, meaning it is being shot on IMAX-certified cameras and formatted for IMAX presentation. Director Joseph Kosinski is familiar with this technique, having done the same on Top Gun: Maverick and F1.

Universal Pictures set to release the film on May 19, 2028. Production is expected to begin on location throughout parts of Miami and Los Angeles in November of this year.
