Set to start production this year, a remake of the 1994 movie The Crow has found its leading man in Jack Huston, according to Deadline. The Crow, originally a graphic novel about an undead vigilante, will feature Huston as Eric Dravin, the role originally played by Brandon Lee.
Corin Hardy (The Hallow) is directing this movie about a guitarist who is killed and brought back to life to hunt down his and his fiance’s killer. James O’Barr wrote the original graphic novel, published by Caliber Comics, and then adapted it into the 1994 movie, which was followed by several sequels, TV adaptations, and more. First-time scribe Claire Wilson will write this latest adaptation of O’Barr’s comic.
Huston is no stranger to remakes; he is currently taking on a role in the Ben-Hur remake from Paramount as Judah Ben-Hur. He also played roles in American Hustle and the HBO series Boardwalk Empire. Huston was the actor that director and producer Hardy – along with original producer Edward R. Pressman – set their sights on several weeks ago, and now it appears the deal is finally coming to fruition.
Filming is set to start this year, with an anticipated release in 2016.
