J.C. Chandor Will Produce and Likely Direct ‘The Liar’s Ball’ Adaptation

J.C. Chandor (A Most Violent Year) is on tap to produce and likely direct the adaptation of the Vicky Ward’s book The Liar’s Ball. The novel follows the real estate battle to redevelop New York’s historic G.M. building. The property is now home to an Apple Store.

The script will be written by Gideon Yago (TV’s Manhattan). Zachary Quinto (Star Trek: Into Darkness) will serve as an executive producer on the movie; the actor produced and starred in Chandor’s earlier film, Margin Call, though there is no word if he will star in Liar’s Ball.

Chandor recently wrote the drama Deepwater Horizon, which focuses on the 2010 oil spill on the drilling rig Deepwater Horizon. That film is being directed by Peter Berg (Lone Survivor) and has started shooting.

We will have more on The Liar’s Ball as the project develops.
