Hulu Comedy ‘Sex Appeal’ Add Margaret Cho, Skai Jackson, Paris Jackson, Fortune Feimster, and Rebecca Henderson From American High

The latest collaboration between Hulu and American High, Sex Appeal, a YA rom-com, adds a few more cast members joining previously announced leads Mika Abdalla (Cruel Summer) and Jake Short (Mighty Med). Talia Osteen (Blindsided) will be directing the film, and Tate Hanyok (Just Us) will be writing the script.

Emmy nominee Margaret Cho (Law & Order SVU), Fortune Feimster (The Netflix Afterparty), Skai Jackson (Jessie), Rebecca Henderson (Russian Doll), and Paris Jackson (Lee Daniels’ Star) are set to star in the Hulu comedy.

Sex Appeal centers on Avery Hansen-White, who avoids doing things she isn’t excellent at. So, after her long-distance boyfriend suggest taking their relationship to the next level at the upcoming STEM conference (dubbed “nerd prom”), she sets out to master her sexuality. Avery starts to learn the dynamics of love in this teen comedy and discovers that relationships need less research and science and more heart instead.

Sex Appeal is American High’s fifth Hulu Original film, following Big Time Adolescence, The Binge, and The Ultimate Playlist of Noise. The upcoming movie Plan B is expected to be released this coming summer, about a regrettable first sexual experience. A straight-laced high school student and her laid-back best friend have 24 hours to find a Plan B pill in America’s heartland.
