Amanda Seyfried To Star Alongside Rami Yousif And Sharon Stone In A24 Comedy ‘Martha And Muhammed’

Amanda Seyfried In 'The Housemaid'

Amanda Seyfried has joined the cast of the A24 comedy Martha and Muhammad, starring alongside Rami Yousif and Sharon Stone. Seyfried, who received a Best Supporting Actress nomination for her role in David Fincher’s Mank, is coming off a slew of recent projects. Last year’s The Housemaid, in which Seyfried starred alongside Sydney Sweeney, was a major box-office success, grossing over $400 million worldwide on a reported $35 million budget. While not a financial success, Seyfried also received acclaim for playing Anne Lee, the leader of the Shaker Movement, in the musical drama The Testament of Anne Lee.

Rami Yousif is set to write and direct the film, marking his feature directorial debut. Yousif is also producing the film through his production company, Cairo Cowboy, alongside Josh Safdie, Ronald Bronstein, and Eli Bush through Central Pictures, and Christopher Storer and Tyson Bidner through American Light & Fixture. A24 will finance and distribute the film.

Not much is known about the film, as plot and character details have yet to be revealed. It’ll be one of several upcoming projects for Amanda Seyfried, which also include the musical Octet, directed by Lin-Manuel Miranda, and The Life and Deaths of Wilson Shedd, which is being directed by Tim Blake Nelson, where she’ll be starring opposite Scoot McNairy.
