Holiday-Themed Sequel to ‘Bad Moms’ Fast-Tracked

Some fed-up mommas will be sending out some holiday cheer in 2017. STX Entertainment announced Friday a sequel is go to their summer sleeper hit Bad Moms. Titled A Bad Moms Christmas, the film is set to reunite stars Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell and Kathryn Hahn. Jon Lucas and Scott Moore appear set to write and direct the sequel – both made their Hollywood mark as the scribes of the 2009 blockbuster The Hangover.

A Bad Moms Christmas will again center around the trio of underappreciated mothers as they prepare for the Christmas holiday – with their own mother in toe. No additional casting announcements have been announced yet, but STX Entertainment has dated the film, announcing the sequel will arrive in theaters on November 3, 2017. With this level of fast-tracking for the  now franchise, announcements should come underway soon enough.

Bad Moms opened this past summer and became a surprise success, earning $180 million at the worldwide box office. Adam Fogelson, chairman of STX stated, “This is a brand that has enormous goodwill all over the world, so expanding and extending the Bad Moms franchise in an authentic and irreverent way has been a priority for our team. Jon and Scott have a truly hysterical story that was pure perfection. Mila, Kristen and Kathryn are excited to re-team, and we will move forward with A Bad Moms Christmas on a similar time table and in much the same way in which we produced the original.”
