Nick Offerman harmonizes beautifully with Kiersey Clemons in Hearts Beat Loud. The story is directed by Brett Haley. Offerman and Clemons will be playing father and daughter respectively. Together, before she heads off for higher education, they “band” together to make music.
Offerman taught himself guitar before filming any scenes and said in an interview in Entertainment Weekly, “I’m very proud that I was able to passably perform the music in the film,” he says. “But the guitar licks that I’m playing, to my way of thinking, are pretty rudimentary. But they represent three months of sweaty, insecure toil.”
Sasha Lane, Ted Danson, Blythe Danner, and Toni Collette will also perform in the film. Check them out below.
Hearts Beat Loud will debut on June 8th. If you want to check out the film, make sure to look up where it’s releasing, as it will be appearing in only a fraction of theaters.
