Yo Joe!
After the financial success of the Transformers movie series the toy company Hasbro have been working hard on getting movies based on their other toy lines into theaters. When it came to adapting their feminine toy brands into movies Hasbro succeed with their My Little Pony movie, but they also failed miserably with their Jem and the Holograms movie.
Hasbro has also made several movies based on the G.I. Joe brand, and they are currently working on the production of movie titled G.I. Joe: Snake Eyes. As the title suggests this movie will focus on the popular G.I. Joe character Snake Eyes, played by Ray Park in the previous films, who is a silent ninja well liked for his incredible combat skills and mysterious past.
But Snake Eyes is not the only G.I. Joe character getting his own spinoff movie, there will be another called G.I. Joe: Ever Vigilant. But which of the many eccentric and absurdly dressed G.I. Joe characters did Hasbro choose as the star? Could it be Duke the leader? The tough but lovely Scarlet? The hilariously inappropriately titled Snowjob? Or maybe even Hector Ramirez who was a thinly veiled parody of Geraldo Rivera? Well it isn’t any of them because Hasbro has decided that the character Chuckles will be the lead character in this upcoming movie.
And before anyone asks no Chuckles was not created as a parody character for Robot Chicken, or The Venture Brothers, or even the G.I. Joe and Community cross over episode. Chuckles is a real G.I. Joe character. He is an undercover agent working for G.I. Joe from Arkansas who is known for wearing Hawaiian shirts.
G.I. Joe: Ever Vigilant does not have a set release date as of right now but, G.I. Joe: Snake Eyes is expected to come out in fall of 2020.
So now you know about the obscure character of Chuckles and knowing is half the battle.
