Jason Dohring, Zachary Gordon to Join Olivia Munn, Justin Theroux in Upcoming Drama ‘Violet’

Veronica Mars actor Jason Dohring and Diary of Wimpy Kid‘s Zachary Gordon have been cast in an upcoming drama film Violet, alongside Olivia Munn and Justin Theroux. The film, written and directed by Justine Bateman, is about a film executive, played by Munn, who hears The Voice (Theroux) in her head and lives her life by its words. She soon discovers that The Voice has been telling her lies.  

Dohring will play Harry White, a film executive with a close business relationship to Munn’s character and Gordon will play a younger film executive whose life and work come easy for him. 

Some executive producers on this project are Cassian Elwes and Matt Paul. Justine Bateman will produce the film under Section 5. This will be Bateman’s feature film debut as a director. 

Olivia Munn recently appeared in 2018’s Ocean’s 8 and The Predator. One of her upcoming projects includes Dick Move, where she will star alongside John Reynolds and Henry Zebrowski. Theroux’s recent credits include The Spy Who Dumped MeOn the Basis of Sex, and Bumblebee. One of Theroux’s upcoming projects is Lady and the Tramp where he will be lending his voice as the Tramp. 

Marisa Thomas: Marisa Thomas is currently earning a bachelor’s degree in Cinema and Media Studies as well as in Women and Gender Studies from Texas Christian University. Her academic areas of interest include queer representation in media, gender performance and perception, and film history. Marisa is from Fort Worth, Texas and her favorite films are Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, Sex, Lies, and Videotape, Booksmart, and Call Me By Your Name.
