Gil Birmingham, Caren Pistorius & Brooklynn Prince Join Daisy Ridley and Ben Mendelsohn in Adaptation of ‘The Marsh King’s Daughter’

The psychological thriller The Marsh King’s Daughter has added a few new actors to the casting roster with already announced stars Daisy Ridley (Chaos Walking) and Ben Mendelsohn (Ready Player One) to Karen Dionne’s best-selling 2017 novel. Deadline has reported that Gil Birmingham (The Twilight Saga), Caren Pistorius (Unhinged), and Brooklynn Prince (The One and Only Ivan) are set to join the film with Neil Burger (Limitless, The Illusionist) directing.

Written by Ellie Smith and Mark L. Smith (The Revenant) and the story follows Helena (Ridley), a woman living a seemingly regular life with her husband and small daughter, but concealing a dark secret: her father is the fabled ‘Marsh King,’ the man who held Helena and her mother hostage in the woods for years. Helena is forced to confront her demons when her father suddenly escapes from jail. Helena must find the courage to confront her past and the man she once admired, knowing that he would go after her and her family.

Birmingham can be seen next in Marvel’s Eternals that Chloé Zhao directed.

Prince is now starring in the Apple TV+ series Home Before Dark, and just last week, the second season premiered.

Pistorius is not attached to any movie or TV series, but the last film she worked on was Unhinged alongside Russell Crowe.
