Gal Gadot Espionage Thriller ‘Heart of Stone’ is Acquired by Netflix From Skydance

In the highly competitive auction to win the worldwide distribution rights to Gal Gadot’s espionage thriller Heart of Stone owned by Skydance Media, Netflix won out. Tom Harper will direct the film and directed other films like Wild Rose and The Aeronauts. He aims to direct female-centric movies like Mission Impossible and 007. The script was written by Allison Schroeder (Hidden Figures) and Greg Rucka (The Old Guard).

Heart of Stone is only in the early stages of filming as no scenes have been shot yet. Details about the plot are still being kept under wraps.

Skydance and Netflix are no strangers and have an already strong relationship with each other as the streamer produced hits like 6 Underground and The Old Guard from Skydance. Netflix is also currently filming an untitled time travel movie starring Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool) and Shawn Levy (Night at the Museum) that Skydance is also behind.

Since the pandemic, Skydance has been actively selling their movies and recently auctioned off the upcoming animated features films Luck and Spellbound to Apple that is expected to begin filming in 2022. The heist film Red Notice starring Gadot, Reynolds, and Dwayne Johnson wrapped its production recently for Netflix, originally a Universal movie, and is scheduled to be on the streamer sometime this year.

Upcoming films from Skydance include Top Gun: Maverick, Without Remorse, Snake Eyes, and the last two installments of the Mission: Impossible franchise.
