First Trailer for ‘Uglydolls’ Movie

Today we saw the worldwide debut of the first trailer for the upcoming children’s film Uglydolls. It is based on an extremely popular set of plush dolls from the earlier 2000s, which focused on absurd and ridiculous designs and features. The film has a star studded and very musical cast with Kelly Clarkson, Nick Jonas, Blake Shelton, Janelle Monae, Wanda Sykes, Emma Roberts, Gabriel Iglesias, Wang Leehom, Pitbull, and more lending their voices to the various characters.

The film is set in the town of Uglyville where weird and strange are normal and the beauty of its citizens is deeper than appearance. It will follow Moxy (Kelly Clarkson) and her friends as their curiosity leads them to discover the town of Perfection, in which values and appearance are different from what any of the uglydolls have seen before. Being subjected to the standards of this new world, the uglydolls will struggle with the fact that they are different. With a desire to be loved, they will eventually learn that being yourself is the most important thing, and perfection doesn’t matter

This upbeat and heartfelt animated tale directed by Kelly Asbury will release in theaters on May 10, 2019, distributed by STX Entertainment.

Robert Thornson Jr.: My name is Robert and I am currently an undergraduate student at the University of California Irvine. I am pursuing a B.A. in Film and Media studies with hopes to work in the creative industry. I have always had a passion for storytelling and since youth I've loved film. I grew up loving the movies of directors like Wes Anderson, Stanley Kubrick, Alfred Hitchcock, Martin Scorsese, David Fincher, and many more along with writers such as Aaron Sorkin and Quentin Tarantino. One thing I have always done is write about movies and communicate to others information about the "film community" and the industry as well as about the films themselves. I write creatively on a daily basis.
