First Teaser Trailer Arrives for Zack Snyder’s ‘Army of the Dead’

After releasing some first look images earlier this week, the first footage has now arrived from Zack Snyder‘s highly anticipated upcoming zombie comedy thriller, Army of the Dead. The film marks a return to form for Snyder, who made his directorial debut with 2004’s Dawn of the Dead. This next zombie film is much bigger budget and grander scale, just showing how far Snyder’s career has come since then.

Army of the Dead follows a group of mercenaries who take the opportunity presented by a zombie apocalypse to pull off a major Las Vegas heist. The cast of the film includes Dave Bautista, Ella Purnell, Hiroyuki Sanada, Tig Notaro, Ana de la Reguera, and many more.

This first trailer, as it is only a teaser, does not tell us much about the characters or the plot, but gives us a glimpse into what this film will uniquely have to contribute to the zombie movie genre. It showcases some campy moments of Vegas performers-turned-zombies making their way through a classic casino and outside Vegas’ Eiffel Tower. If that didn’t seem intimidating enough, the trailer includes a wide sweeping shot of an open area packed full of zombies shoulder to shoulder, creating a sea of the undead.

Army of the Dead is scheduled for release on Netflix on May 21.
