Final Trailer for ‘Valerian’ Shows Off Film’s Ambitious Visual Splendor

Valerian and the City of Thousand Planets has the potential to be the movie event of the summer based on its exciting final trailer. Capturing an extraterrestrial world defying imagination, filmmaker Luc Besson (LucyThe Fifth Element) is in no way holding back for his latest film.

Based on a popular graphic novel series, Valerian and Laureline, the film will tell the story of the intergalactic special ops duo as they infiltrate the city of Alpha, an ever-expanding meeting place for countless species who have come together to share wisdom, knowledge, and their cultures over the years. There is a dark menace threatening the peace of Alpha, however, and Valerian and Laureline are tasked by the Minister of Defense to identify and take down the insidious force threatening the City of a Thousand Planets, as well as the rest of the universe.

The film stars Dane DeHaan (Chronicle) and Cara Delevingne (Suicide) and features appearances by Clive Owen, Ethan Hawke, Rihanna, John Goodman, Herbie Hancock, and Kris Wu.
