‘Fifty Shades Darker’ Teaser Hits the Web – “Intrigued?”

Our first real look at Fifty Shades Darker has arrived. A particularly brief look. Ahead of tomorrow’s debut of the first full trailer for the second chapter in E.L. James’ uber-successful erotic book series, Universal Pictures has unveiled tiny sample to whet our appetites for the further adventures of kinky would-be lovers Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele, once again portrayed by Jamie Dornan (Anthropoid) and Dakota Johnson (A Bigger Splash). The first chapter, Fifty Shades of Grey, opened in theaters over the Valentine’s Day weekend of 2015. The film grossed an astounding $571 million worldwide.

Fifty Shades Darker picks up with a broody Christian trying to pick up the pieces and regain Anastasia’s trust. Before that can happen, she sets new parameters for their relationship. Yet, just as they start to come together, the darker forces of Christian’s pat begin to enter the fray and risk their chances of a happy ending. The ensemble cast includes Hugh Dancy, Eric Johnson, Jennifer Ehle, Luke Grimes, Rita Ora, Victor Rasuk, Eloise Mumford, Max Martini, Bella Heathcote, Kim Basinger and Marcia Gay Harden.

For the second chapter, gone are director Sam Taylor-Johnson (Nowhere Boy) and screenwriter Kelly Marcel (Saving Mr. Banks) and in is director James Foley (Glengarry Glen Ross) and writer Niall Leonard (James’ husband). Fifty Shades Darker opens in theaters on February 10th. The third chapter – Fifty Shades Freed – follows one year later on February 9, 2018. The first poster was also released today.
