Disney and Pixar Unveil Upcoming Animated Film ‘Elio’ for 2024 Release

Excitement is building among animation enthusiasts as Disney and Pixar recently announced their 28th collaborative animated feature film, Elio. Set to hit theaters on March 1, 2024. This vibrant and adventurous movie promises to captivate audiences of all ages. 

Elio takes viewers on a spirited intergalactic journey following the escapades of a young boy named Elio. In a case of mistaken identity, Elio finds himself thrust into a remarkable position as he is wrongly perceived as the leader of Earth. Transported to the Communiverse, a gathering place for leaders from all galaxies, Elio must navigate a series of trials that will not only test his abilities but also help him discover his true purpose. Along the way, he forms profound friendships with diverse alien life forms, further enriching his transformative experience.

The stellar cast lineup for Elio has been confirmed, with Yonas Kibreab taking on the titular role of Elio Solis. The talented America Ferrera lends her voice to the character Olga Solis, while Jameela Jamil and Brad Garrett bring to life the vibrant personas of Ambassador Questa and Ambassador Grigon, respectively. More characters as well as the cast will be announced as time ticks closer to the release of the movie. 

 

The film is helmed by the one of the directorial duo behind the
critically acclaimed film
Coco. Adrian Molina, known for his work as a screenwriter and co-director on Coco, takes the director’s chair for Elio. Joining him is producer Alice Drumm, who previously served as an assistant producer on Coco. With their expertise and creative vision, audiences can anticipate a visually stunning and emotionally resonant cinematic experience.
