Danai Gurira joins ‘Avengers: Infinity War’

It looks like Danai Gurira (The Visitor) will play role in Avengers: Infinity War, acting alongside her Black Panther costar, Chadwick Boseman (Get on Up).

In the upcoming February 2018 film, Black Panther, Gurira will be playing Okoye, one of the Dora Milaje. The Dora Milaje serve the rulers of Wakanda, acting as warriors and bodyguards so that they may protect the royalty of the country. Lupita Nyong’o (Queen of Katwe) will play Nakia, a fellow member of this elite group.

Gurira is known for her talent in taxing physical scenes, as well as her remarkable skill in emotional performances. She has acted as Michonne in the television series, The Walking Dead, creating some of the most memorable and incredible fight scenes in the show. She also plays Afeni Shakur, political activist and mother of Tupac Shakur, in the soon to be released film, All Eyez on Me.

Avengers: Infinity War will contain huge ensemble cast, ranging from actors from the Avengers films to main players from the Guardians of the Galaxy movies. Set for release on May 4, 2018, the film will be directed by Anthony and Joe Russo (Captain America: the Winter Soldier).
