Check Out the Rousing Trailer for ‘Marshall’ Starring Chadwick Boseman

Chadwick Boseman, currently on his way to super-stardom with his take on Black Panther in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, shows off his mighty range with Marshall, Open Road’s forthcoming biopic of Thurgood Marshall, the first African-American to serve on the Supreme Court of the United States of America. The first trailer has made its debut.

The synopsis reads, “Long before he sat on the United States Supreme Court or claimed victory in Brown v. Board of Education, Thurgood Marshall (Chadwick Boseman) was a young rabble-rousing attorney for the NAACP. The new motion picture, Marshall, is the true story of his greatest challenge in those early days – a fight he fought alongside attorney Sam Friedman (Josh Gad), a young lawyer with no experience in criminal law:  the case of black chauffeur Joseph Spell (Sterling K. Brown), accused by his white employer, Eleanor Strubing (Kate Hudson), of sexual assault and attempted murder.”

Boseman is no stranger to portraying influential greats. He previously essayed baseball icon Jackie Robinson in 42 and King of Soul James Brown in Get On Up, both to critically admired effect.

Marshall hits theaters on October 13th
