Check Out the First Trailer for ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’

The first trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming has arrived. The webslinging preview made its world premiere on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Thursday evening; the talk show airs on ABC, subsidiary of Disney, as is Marvel Studios. The latest superhero iteration stars Tom Holland (The Impossible), who takes on the suit in third reboot of the popular comic book character – Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield were the other two. What’s at once notable about Spider-Man: Homecoming is now the character (while still at rival studio Sony) is officially (and finally) a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Holland, to critical and popular fanfare, debuted his Spider-Man/Peter Parker in this summer’s Captain America: Civil War.

On the rise director Jon Watts (Cop Car) takes the reins of the franchise which features a diverse (and quite young) ensemble cast.  Zendaya (who is not playing Spidey squeeze Mary Jane Watson), Michael Barbieri (Little Men), Angourie Rice (The Nice Guys), Abraham Attah (Beasts of No Nation) and Tony Revolori (The Grand Budapest Hotel) co-star in the film alongside Donald Glover (The Martian), Jon Favreau (Chef), Martin Starr (I’ll See You in My Dreams), Logan Marshall-Green (Prometheus). Oscar winner Marisa Tomei (The Wrestler) appears as Aunt May and recent Best Picture good luck charm Michael Keaton (Spotlight) returns to the comic book mold, this time going to the dark side as the villainous The Vulture. Robert Downey, Jr. also appears in the film as Tony Stark.

Excited? Check out the first trailer below. Spider-Man: Homecoming will swing into theaters on July 7th.
