‘Captain Marvel’ Trailer Likely Coming Next Week

Brace yourselves, Marvel fans, as the trailer for your next cinematic drip feed is almost ready for primetime. Eager comic book movie enthusiasts note that Good Morning America has booked Captain Marvel star Brie Larson for an appearance on the show on Tuesday, September 18. While it’s entirely possible that she’ll only discuss her starring role in the music video for the song Family Feud by Jay Z, it’s more likely that this visit will result in trailer reveal for the next addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Ever since Avengers: Infinity War ended with an epic tease for the MCU’s most powerful superhero fans have been jonesing for information on Marvel’s first female solo superhero film.

Entertainment Weekly recently provided first glimpse of Captain Marvel, and while the images were a pleasant diversion, the resulting pics and story details didn’t exactly break the internet. If GMA on ABC delivers a first trailer as expected, then we’re more likely to see Internet Armageddon. Marvel and ABC and possibly half of all media that we consume are now owned by Disney, and GMA has recently been used as a promotional delivery device to debut high-profile trailers for Avengers: Infinity War and Solo: A Star Wars Story.

The story for Captain Marvel follows U.S. Air Force pilot Carol Danvers; she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful superheroes as Earth is trapped in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races, the Kree and the Skrulls. Set way back in the ancient 1990’s, Brie Larson stars as the titular heroine, with Samuel L. Jackson reprising his role as de-aged Nick Fury, along with younger versions of Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg), Ronan the Accuser (Lee Pace), and Korath the Pursuer (Djimon Hounsou). Jude Law features in a prominent (and mysterious) role as Kree commander Walter Lawson/Mar-Vell . Ben Mendelsohn plays Talos the Untamed, leader of the fearsome, shapeshifting Skrull warriors who invade the 1990’s and wage war on grunge rock, boy bands, and Pokémon.

Captain Marvel hits theaters like a megaton punch on March 8, 2019, and then she’ll bring the pain to wise economist Thanos in Untitled Avengers Film #4 on May 3, 2019. Keep constantly refreshing your browser on our home page until Tuesday, as we’ll be posting the trailer the minute it drops, and we really need to inflate our page-view numbers.

I enjoy watching movies and TV shows, playing video games, singing badly to pop songs in the car, eating delicious food, and drinking fine alcoholic beverages. I play basketball when my crippling knee and back pain allows, and I try to hit the gym on a regular basis. I have a son and a sugar glider, and when I'm not combing the internet for breaking news I am likely traveling or riding my Razor scooter.
