‘Call Me By Your Name’ Takes Home Top Prize at the Gotham Awards

The Gotham Independent Films Awards were handed out on Monday Nov 27 at Cipriani Wall Street in New York.

The night’s top honor, Best Feature, went to Luca Guadagnino’s romance Call Me By Your Name, but Jordan Peele’s Get Out nearly won the night, taking home 3 awards, the most of any film.

The night also awarded the year’s two young standouts with CMBYN‘s Timothée Chalamet taking home Breakthrough Actor and Lady Birds Saoirse Ronan leaving with Best Actress.

The Gotham Awards officially marks the kick off of awards season, and as of now in the indie movie realm, it looks to be a race between CMBYN and Get Out, with the likes of Good TimeThe Florida Project, and Lady Bird not following far behind.
