‘Black Widow’ Cast Confirmed and First Footage Screened at Marvel SDCC Panel

Scarlett Johansson is returning as the Black Widow Natasha Romanov in her own movie, at long last. The cast has finally been announced and will include David Harbour, Rachel Weisz, O.T. Fagbenle, and Florence Pugh.

Pugh appears to be playing Natasha’s sister, Weisz will be a character named Mileena, and Harbour will be Alexi. Pugh was featured in a clip screened at the panel that showed a crowd-riling fight in Budapest between her and Johansson.

The film will be released on May 1, 2020, but will not take place in the chronology of Phase 4. It will instead be a prequel that shows Natasha’s life before joining the Avengers.

Cate Shortland will be directing and was present at the panel with the cast.
