Fox and Temple Hill have acquired the rights to Ben Mezrich’s upcoming book, Woolly. A  true story based on a geneticist who attempts to bring back the Woolly Mammoth from extinction. With his team of young Harvard scientists, the plan is to populate a large portion of Siberian tundra.

The book is to be released fall 2017 by Simon and Shuster’s Atria Books. Woolly is said to belong to the same category as Mezrich’s other books turned adaptations Accidental Billionaires, adapted into The Social Network and Bringing Down the House, which was adapted into 2008’s drama 21.

Mezrich has got to be one of Hollywood’s favorite authors. Besides Accidental Billionaires and Bringing Down the House, Mezrich has numerous other books in development with studios. Along with Woolly, Fox has Mezrich’s Seven Wonders, his 2014 book about the seven wonders of the world.
