‘Friday the 13th’ Reboot is Actually Happening

Reboots – they’ve joined cockroaches and Cher on the list of surviving entities after nuclear war. Seemingly inevitable at this point, there’s still hesitation whenever we get the news that another childhood favorite franchise is being re-introduced to the next generation.

Some reboots can be a lot of fun though. They might not capture your heart like their predecessors, but they’re fun enough to at least warm your heart some (Ghostbusters, Star Treck Beyond). What better cinematic resurrection than one of character that never seems to die? That concept alone is entertaining. Needless to say, fans all over were excited to hear that Jason would be back for a Friday the 13th reboot, according to Dread Central.

The only lingering question was when would Jason kill again? – the answer is soon.

With the Paramount/Platinum Dunes film approved for a $5.6 million dollar credit, filming would have to begin within 180 days of the initial approval. This means that production is likely to begin around January or possibly sooner.

Breck Eisner (The Crazies) is on board as director, and Jason will back on screen slashing victims in no time.
