Beau Mirchoff Joins Cast of ‘Flatliners’ Remake

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Beau Mirchoff (MTV’s Awkward) is the latest addition to the cast of Flatliners, Sony’s new remake of the 1990 sci-fi horror which starred Kevin Bacon (The Darkness), Julia Roberts (Money Monster), and Kiefer Sutherland (Zoolander 2). Sutherland has been confirmed to appear in the remake. Already in the cast are Ellen Page (Tallulah), Diego Luna (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story), Nina Dobrev (TV’s The Vampire Diaries), Kiersey Clemons (Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising) and James Norton (TV’s Grantchester).

Flatliners follows a group of medical students who secretly attempt to discover what lies beyond death, conducting experiments to produce near-death experiences, with frightening consequences.

The remake will be helmed by Niels Arden Oplev (Sweden’s Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) from a screenplay by Ben Ripley (Source Code). Producers are Michael Douglas, Laurence Mark, and David Blackman.

Mirchoff just finished his fifth season on MTV’s Awkward. He previously appeared on the big screen in the YA sci-fi adaptation I Am Number Four as well as in last year’s thriller Murder Pact and comedy-drama See You in Valhalla. He will next be seen in Grass Stains starring Tye Sheridan (X Men: Apocalypse) about a teenager who has to deal with his guilty conscience after a prank leads to the death of his girlfriend’s brother.

Flatliners is currently shooting and is scheduled to bow on August 18, 2017.
