When it was revealed that The DC Comic Batman: The Long Halloween was being adapted into a two-part feature, it was a concern to some fans if the violence and adult themes would be watered down.
According to Movie Web, the upcoming feature was given PG-13 rating, which means that it will have “…violence, bloody images, language and some smoking.” The film adaptation of the iconic 1990’s Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale‘s comic was announced this past summer. The comic takes place during the Dark Knight’s early days and will include several popular members including Scarecrow, the Joker, Mad Hatter, Poison Ivy, and the Riddler. The plot of the film reads: “Christmas. St. Patrick’s Day. Easter. As the calendar’s days stack up, so do the bodies littered in the streets of Gotham City. A murderer is loose, killing only on holidays. The only man that can stop this fiend? The Dark Knight.”
The film has a star-studded cast, including Troy Baker, Jensen Ackles, Titus Welliver, David Dastmalchian, and the late Naya Rivera. Batman: The Long Halloween will be released later this year, with Part One reportedly being released sometime in Summer 2021, followed by Part Two sometime in Fall 2021.
