Awkwafina Joins Drama ‘Swan Song’ with Mahershala Ali and Naomie Harris

Golden Globe winner Awkwafina is officially joining the drama Swan Song, the upcoming new Apple Original film starring Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali (Moonlight) and Academy Award winner, Golden Globe, and SAG nominee Naomie Harris (Rampage).

Swan Song is characterized as a genre-bending drama set in the distant future that examines how far someone is going and how much they’re going to give up to find a happy life for the ones they love. Awkwafina will portray Kate, a close friend, and confidant of Ali’s Cameron character, while Harris will be playing Poppy, Cameron’s wife and true soulmate.

Benjamin Cleary (Stutterer) directed and wrote the screenplay produced by Apple Studios, Anonymous Content, and Concordia Studio. On Behalf of Anonymous Content, Adam Shulman and Jacob Perlin will produce the film. Concordia Studio’s Jonathan King will produce as well. Ali, who is starring in the movie, will also be a producer through his company Know Wonder.

Earlier this year, for her lead role in her performance of The Farewell, she won a Golden Globe. She burst into the hearts of many with Crazy Rich Asians that we can’t get enough of her. She stars in Comedy Central’s comedy series Awkwafina Is Nora From Queens that got renewed for a second season. Right now, she is working on her next set of films, Raya and the Last Dragon and Marvel’s Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings.
