‘Avengers: Endgame’ to Set Records with Unprecedented Opening Projections

What is perhaps the most anticipated film of the decade, Avengers: Endgame, is projected to crush longstanding opening records. Theaters throughout the country are being flooded with millions of fans eager to watch the end of the MCU as we know it. Large venues like Edwards Irvine and NYC Lincoln Square are seeing upwards of $150 thousand dollar days. Industry experts are estimating that Endgame will easily break $130 million today alone. Projections are putting Endgame to be the first film to open to a $300-plus million weekend in the domestic market.

Endgame has also boasted absurd numbers in the international markets. According to Deadline, Endgame has grossed an extraordinary $305 million in two days. China, which is not included in the international total above, is being tallied at $216.4 million in three days. The Middle Kingdom is on pace to break $300 million by the end of its five-day launch. The film is outpacing Infinity War in the European, South American and Chinese markets.

The outstanding success of the Russo brothers’ directed film is a much needed boost to the otherwise slumping 2019 box office. For the time being, Marvel has answered any lingering questions about the future of the industry.
