Ann Wilson of the Band Heart Reveals Biopic Being Produced at Amazon

Ann Wilson revealed that a biopic about her band Heart is being produced at Amazon.

The singer from the classic rock band revealed the announcement to host Lyndsey Parker on SiriusXM’s Volume West show. Wilson also said that Carrie Brownstein of the Sleater-Kinney punk band and the costar in Portlandia from IFC would write and direct the biopic.

“I saw the first draft of the script,” Wilson said on the show. “It’s really cool. She’s working with the movie company — Amazon — and with the producer, Linda Obst, who did Sleepless in Seattle.”

Obst credits also include How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days that starred Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey. Flashdance with Jennifer Beals and Michael Nouri. One Fine Day with Michelle Pfeiffer and George Clooney and the TV series Hot in Cleveland starring Betty White.

The biopic will cover the rise of Ann and her sister Nancy Wilson as one of the biggest bands in the world. There hasn’t been any casting decisions yet, and Ann Wilson said she didn’t have any preference. “I just don’t have any idea. I’m too close to it,” she said. “I’m just as excited about finding out as you are.”

Wilson also revealed that Anne Hathaway showed some interest in the role, but this is what Wilson had to say about that, “I don’t think she’s exactly right for it.”

If the actors will be expected to sing, the Heart catalog is still up in the air because of the pandemic, but it is still under development.
