Amazon, Annapurna to Jointly Release Ben Stiller Comedy ‘Brad’s Status’

According to Deadline, Brad’s Status starring Ben Stiller (While We’re Young) will be jointly released on September 15th by Amazon Studios and Annapurna. The deal was recently sealed at Cannes. Mike White (who penned the upcoming Beatriz At Dinner) wrote and directed the comedy.

The story follows Brad (Stiller), a family man with a good career, who nevertheless is jealous that his old school friends have had better luck in the world and mired in negative self-comparison During a trip to the east coast with his son (Austin Abrams) to tour colleges, Brad comes face to face with his sense of inferiority as he meets up with his old friends. Michael Sheen (Passengers), Luke Wilson (Dear Eleanor), Jemaine Clement (FX’s Legion) and Jenna Fischer (TV’s The Office) are also in the cast.

The film was co-financed by Amazon with Sidney Kimmel Entertainment. SKE, Plan B and David Bernad produced the feature.

Karen Earnest: A psychologist by profession, Karen was an early fan of movie musicals, sci-fi films, and black and white classics. She lives in Los Angeles County, where "the sun shines bright, the beaches are wide and inviting, and the orange groves (used to) stretch as far as the eye can see" (quoting Sid in L.A. Confidential)
