‘Alien’ Returns to Theaters for 40th Anniversary!

Despite his mixed critical record, Ridley Scott remains a director of vision. From Gladiator, Blade Runner and even the hyper-realistic Black Hawk Down, Scott best films have a way of bringing the audience into his cinematic locations. And now his breakout film Alien, one of the most iconic and influential sci-fi horror film of all time, is coming back to theaters in honor of the film’s 40 anniversary for a special three-day event sponsored by Fathom.

Alien, as everyone knows by now, stars an ensemble cast including Sigourney Weaver as Ellen Ripley and their battle against the terrifying Xenomorph. The plot follows the crew of the Nostromo, a massive commercial space tug that receives a SOS transmission. Upon inspecting the SOS, the crew make a horrifying discovery that follows them back onto their ship. Tightly plotted, perfectly acted and featuring an astounding sense of style from the ship and the creature itself, Alien ranks among some of the greatest films in the science-fiction genre.

Fathom Events along with Turner Classic Movies are bringing this iconic film back to the big screen. Tickets are on sale so don’t miss your chance to experience a truly memorable piece of filmmaking and storytelling. The showtimes are on October 13, 15 and 16th. Return to space, a world where the unknown is the greatest threat.

Rick Rice: A kid at heart who has loved watching movies from a very young age. Credit must be given to Siskel and Ebert whose film reviews educated me on the world of film inspired me to become a writer myself. I love to read books that range from various topics, copious amounts of research is something that excites me and of course sitting in a movie theater is a highlight of my life. When I'm not watching movies or reading I enjoy listening to foreign music and working hard on finishing my short stories. Currently working on my degree in English with a plan to enroll into Film School with the dream of becoming a screenwriter and director.
