According to Deadline, Emmy winner and Oscar nominated actor Alec Baldwin (Mission Impossible – Rogue Nation) and Demi Moore (The Joneses) are re-teaming for Michael Mailer’s directorial debut indie drama, Blind. Baldwin and Moore had previously co-starred as adversaries in 1996’s The Juror.
Mailer’s brother, John Buffalo Mailer, penned the screenplay about a novelist (Baldwin) blinded in a car crash that killed his wife. Seven years later, he reconnects with his passion for writing after embarking on an affair with a married woman (Moore). Dylan McDermott (Olympus Has Fallen) plays Moore’s husband, a man whose legal troubles have strained their marriage.
The film has begun shooting in New York. Producers are Mailer, Diane Fisher, Jennifer Gelfer, and Pamela Thur. Baldwin will serve as one of the executive producers.
Moore will be seen next in Jon Cassar’s western drama, Forsaken, alongside Donald Sutherland, set to bow on February 19th. She co-stars with Jessica Lange in Andy Tennant’s upcoming comedy drama, Wild Oats.
Baldwin was in Mission Impossible – Rogue Nation earlier this year and will be seen next in Peter Landesman’s drama, Concussion, starring Will Smith, set to open on Christmas Day. He will be seen next year in Warren Beatty’s untitled project on Howard Hughes.
