Hollywood is not an easy place for actors of color, including Mena Massoud, who played the titular character in Disney’s recent remake of Aladdin. Massoud has not made it secret that his career has been struggling since Aladdin came out. However according to Movie Web Massoud’s luck has changed for the better.
It has just been announced that Massoud has been cast as the leading man in Netflix’s upcoming romantic drama movie The Royal Treatment. Massoud will once again be playing a prince type character. The plot of The Royal Treatment will be about love story between a salon owner named Isabella and royal named Prince Thomas. The two characters meet when Isabella’s salon is commissioned to do the hair styling for Prince Thomas’s royal wedding. Massoud will of course be playing Prince Thomas and the stylist Isabella is being played by Laura Marano. Actress Laura Marano is of course best known for her roles in Austin & Ally and The Perfect Date.
The Royal Treatment was written by Holly Hester and the movie will be directed by Rick Jacobson. The movies production will take place in the great country of New Zealand. It sounds like The Royal Treatment will be another one of Netflix’s famous royalty flavored movies.
