Thursday, March 18 is going to be a big day for Zack Snyder and fans of DC comics. The date marks the worldwide release of Zack Snyder’s Justice League, the 4-hour cut by the original director of the film who left production early on due to family tragedy and was replaced by Joss Whedon.
The film boasts a star-studded cast that includes Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ray Fisher, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller, Willem Dafoe, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J.K. Simmons and Jared Leto. The new cut required a $70 million dollar investment from Warner Bros.
According to Snyder’s wife and producer on the film Deborah Snyder, only one new scene was shot for the cut. Most of the time and money used for the “Snyder Cut” went into creating new and enhancing the film’s old visual effects.
“So, we want back to the original intention… Zack’s intention, in terms of the characters and had to rebuild those models,” said Deborah Snyder. “But then there were just so many shots to do.”
Aside from China, France and Japan, where the release date is still to be determined, Zack Snyder’s Justice League will be available in every market day and date with the US on Thursday, March 18.
