Yvonne Strahovski Is Set to Join Noomi Rapace in ‘Angel of Mine’

According to Deadline, Yvonne Strahovski has been confirmed to join Noomi Rapace in the Australian film Angel of Mine. A remake of 2008 French film L’Empreinte de L’Ange, the story centers around a mother in mourning, played by Rapace, as she tries to endure the difficulties that she faces now that her daughter has passed away. Years later, still a shell of her former self, she becomes convinced that the daughter of another woman (Strahovski) is none other than her thought-to-be-deceased child. She becomes enthralled by this mindset and slowly loses her grip on reality.

The psychological thriller is directed by Kim Farrant, who previously helmed Strangerland starring Nicole Kidman, which was nominated for the Sundance grand jury prize in 2015. Luke Davies, who’s been Oscar-nominated for his work on Lion, used source of the original French script to pen his own new version. Production companies include Garlin Pictures and SixtyFourSixty; they plan to begin rolling out the cameras this April.

Rapace’s involvement was announced back in February. She was most recently seen in Netflix’s Bright alongside Will Smith and Joel Edgerton. She is probably most known for her casting as Lisbeth Salander from film adaptation of the acclaimed novel, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Strahovski is known for her role in Hulu’s The Handmaiden’s Tale, the second season of which will begin on April 25th. She will next be seen on the big screen in The Predator from 20th Century Fox, hitting theaters September 14th.
