Will Gemma Chan Revisit Her Character From ‘Captain Marvel’ in Marvel’s ‘The Eternals’?

According to an article by Variety, actress Gemma Chan is in talks to star in Marvel’s upcoming film The Eternals. If she gets cast, she will join the likes of Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden, Brian Tyree Henry, Salma Hayek, and Kumail Nanjiani. But her casting would mean more than just another power player added to the mix because Chan has already had role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Minn-Erva in Captain Marvel, which starred Brie Larson as the title character. If cast in a different role which, according to Variety, multiple sources seem to hint to, Gemma Chan would be one of the first actresses to have two different characters in the Marvel Universe.

Chan is no stranger to the big screen and has starred in the award-winning Warner Bros. comedy Crazy Rich Asians, starring Constance Wu and Henry Golding, as well as Academy Award-nominated Mary, Queen of Scots starring Saoirse Ronan and Margot Robbie.

Chan’s upcoming projects include two Crazy Rich Asians sequels that are being filmed back to back at the beginning of 2020, and, of course, The Eternals, which will be directed by Chloe Zhao, written by both Matthew and Ryan Firpo, and released in the United States on November 6, 2020.
