Will Ferrell to Star in Netflix Comedy ‘Eurovision’

Will Ferrell is bringing Eurovision to Netflix in a new comedy in which he will both star and co-write.

The film, appropriately named Eurovision, will be based on the world-wide singing and song-writing contest. Beginning in post World War II Europe, it is the longest running international song competition. Every year, participating countries send a song and a performer to the stage where they will represent and perform for their country, and, once everyone has gone, voters in official juries decide which country is the winner.

Ferrell co-wrote this story alongside fellow Saturday Night Live alum, Andrew Steele. He will also be producing with Jessica Elbaum for Gary Sanchez productions, and Adam McKay will executive produce.

Most recently, Ferrell helped to produce the Netflix film Ibiza.

Elena Loedding: Hello! My name is Elena Loedding, and I live in Youngstown, Ohio and am attending my final semester at Youngstown State University. I major in English and minor in theatre. Since I was young, I have had a fascination with film, acting, and writing for the big screen. I have acted and written creatively since the age of 12. I have worked closely with local directors and writers in my area since coming to YSU as both a writer and actor, and I am super excited to be moving outward in the professional writing fields. :)
