‘Who Is Jake Ellis?’ Adaptation At Fox Will Be Directed By Josh Mond

Graphic novel adaptations are becoming increasingly popular in Hollywood these days. Deadline reported, Josh Mond, will direct 20th Century Fox’s version of Nathan Edmonson’s Image Comics graphic novel Who is Jake Ellis? Mond is best known for his 2015 Sundance Film Festival picture, James White. This

This Jake Ellis adaptation will follow Silas, a man who has just heard a voice inside his own head for the first time. The unknown voice goes by the name of Jake Ellis and turns out Silas has been part of a top secret human experimentation. Silas is forced to listen to the voice inside his head in order to save his own life. Silas must figure out how he became involved in this mission and how to get the voice out of his head before it’s too late.

David Yates was attached at one point to the project with writer Seth Lochhead, but since the film has been sent out to other writers.

Mond is partners with Antonio Campos and Sean Durkin in Borderline Films. These three often trade off directing and producing films. Martha Marcy May Marlene (Durkin), Afterschool (Campos), and James White. All three have been nominated for Spirit Awards best first film.
