Wes Anderson’s ‘The French Dispatch’ Gets New Theatrical Release Date

Searchlight pictures has finally set the release date for Wes Anderson’s newest film: The French Dispatch for October 22, 2021. The film will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in July, then it will go on to screen at the New York Film Festival in September before releasing to theaters in the fall.

It looks like October 22 is going to be a busy weekend for releases, as The French Dispatch will release alongside Edgar Wright’s highly anticipated Last Night in Soho (Focus Features) and Clint Eastwood’s Cry Macho (Warner Bros.)

The film’s stacked cast consists of Anderson regulars: Bill Murray, Adrien Brody, Tilda Swinton, Owen Wilson, Edward Norton, Willem Dafoe and more. The rest of the cast also consists of heavy-hitters such as Timothee Chalamet, Frances McDormand, Benicio del Toro, Henry Winkler and many more. The script was helmed by Anderson, with help on the story from Jason Schwartzmen, Roman Coppola and Hugo Guiness
