These are the trailers that, for one reason or another, you should be paying attention to.
#5 – Running Wild: The Life of Dayton O. Hyde
Ok, I grew up on tales of cowboys, so this is kind of a personal pick. But come on. “People were telling me it couldn’t be done, and that’s the wrong thing to say to a cowboy.” How can you say no to that?
#4 – The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete
Always impressive when you’ve got two child actors anchoring your film. Pretty nice supporting cast, too.
#3 – Parkland Official Trailer 1
This trailer actually reminds me a lot of Argo. Period piece that looks like a display of some classically excellent filmmaking.
#2 – American Promise Official Trailer 1
The sheer scope of this film is staggering. These boys literally grew up with cameras regularly invading their life. Certainly not the first or the only ones to suffer such a fate in an age where cable reality shows proliferate, but this shouldn’t invalidate the magnitude of a 14-year hybrid documentary film/sociological study.
#1 – Inside Llewyn Davis Theatrical Trailer 2
Inside Llewyn Davis becomes the Weekly Trailer Roundup’s first repeat winner, after its first trailer took down the top spot as June transitioned into July. What more can be said about this movie? Well, we think, “John Goodman makes everything better,” just about sums it up.
