In a move to gin up excitement for this summer’s Alien: Covenant, Fox has released an enticing sequence – a prologue entitled “The Last Supper” – in a way of teasing the anticipated new title before hitting theaters. A sequel to 2012’s Prometheus and a deepening of the venerable Alien franchise and once again directed by Ridley Scott, Alien: Covenant looks to further terrify.
The official synopsis of Alien: Covenant reads as: “Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discover what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world, whose sole inhabitant is the synthetic David, survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.” The prologue teases the first exchanges of the crew.
The film stars Michael Fassbender (Steve Jobs), Katherine Waterston (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them), Billy Crudup (20th Century Women), James Franco (King Cobra), Danny McBride (Pineapple Express), Demián Bichir (The Hateful Eight), Carmen Ejogo (Selma), Amy Seimetz (Upstream Color), Jussie Smollett (Empire), Callie Hernandez (La La Land), Nathaniel Dean, Alexander England and Benjamin Rigby. John Logan (Spectre) penned the script from a story by Michael Green (Logan) and Jack Paglen (Transcendence).
Alien: Covenant hits theaters on May 19th.
