Following in the footsteps of Cinderella, and The Jungle Book, Disney is set to bring us live action re-imagining of one of their most beloved animated stories, Beauty and the Beast. With the recent success of The Jungle Book, Disney has shown that they’re perfectly capable in making adaptations that please both audiences, and critics.
The trailer focuses primarily on the setting, featuring many crane shots of the castle showing how time has effected it; candles melting, cobwebs spreading. Even though Belle is the only character seen, the Beast is alluded to through claw markings over the young princes portrait.
The cast includes Emma Watson (Harry Potter series) as Belle, and Dan Stevens (Downton Abbey) as the Beast. Set to reignite the magic of the original movie, Beauty and the Beast will come out March 17, 2017.
