Watch Kristen Wiig as a Talk Show Host in the First Trailer for ‘Welcome To Me’

In Welcome To Me, opening on May 1, Kristen Wiig stars as Alice, a fame-obsessed lottery winner who uses her newfound wealth to finance her own cable-access talk show.

Like last year’s The Skeleton Twins, starring Wiig and fellow SNL alum Bill Hader, Welcome To Me portrays mental illness and its various consequences, and looks like it will be another demonstration of Wiig’s abilities as both a comedic and a dramatic actor (though judging from the trailer, it may not get as dark as The Skeleton Twins).

Also starring Linda Cardellini (Return), Joan Cusack (Friends with Money), James Marsden (The Best of Me), Jennifer Jason Leigh (Margot at the Wedding), and Tim Robbins (Mystic River), Welcome To Me is directed by Shira Piven (Fully Loaded). It’s also the latest collaboration between producers Will Ferrell and Adam McKay, creators of Anchorman (2004), Talladega Nights (2006), and the comedy website Funny or Die.

Wiig was most recently announced as one of the stars of Paul Feig’s upcoming Ghostbusters reboot, alongside Melissa McCarthy (Tammy), Kate McKinnon (Life Partners), and Leslie Jones (Top Five).
