Back for their third collaboration, Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling are the on-screen Hollywood duo to beat in Damien Chazelle’s (Whiplash) highly anticipated La La Land. The musical drama was recently chosen to open the Venice Film Festival before heading to theaters right in time for awards season.
La La Land mixes bright colors and old-fashioned musical themes in contemporary Los Angeles, where Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone star as struggling artists who fall in love. John Legend, Finn Wittrock, Rosemarie DeWitt, and Oscar-winner J.K. Simmons round out the rest of the cast. The Begin Again-inspired trailer features the original song, “City of Stars,” which is now available for streaming. Ryan Gosling is the only voice (or sound) heard in the teaser, but his voice is only somewhat able to carry a tune.
