Getting pushed back a full year from its original release date, The Batman Part II is now set to open on Oct. 2, 2026 instead—and it’s not the only film Warner Bros. has made a notable change to on its release calendar. Maggie Gyllenhaal’s latest directorial work The Bride!, an action film starring Christian Bale (along with Annette Bening, Jessie Buckley, Penélope Cruz, and Peter Sarsgaard), is being released on Oct. 3, 2025, the original release date for The Batman sequel. According to DC insiders, last year’s SAG-AFTRA strikes are related to the delay.
Along with the aforementioned changes, other notable film release dates have been postponed as well, such as the delay on Barry Levinson’s gangster film Alto Nights, starring Robert De Niro, Cosmo Jarvis, Debra Messing, Kathrine Narducci, and Michael Rispoli. Due to competitive reasons, the film has been pushed from Nov. 24, 2024 until March 21, 2025. Similarly, the untitled Paul Thomas Anderson event film with an ensemble cast has been given a release date of Aug. 8, 2025. Although details on the film’s plot are currently being kept secret, the film stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Alana Haim, Regina Hall, Wood Harris, Teyana Taylor, and Sean Penn.
It should also be noted that every title here will be available in Imax.
