Viola Davis Joins Sandra Bullock in New Netflix Film Based on Mini-Series ‘Unforgiven’

Viola Davis is set to join Sandra Bullock in new Netflix film based on the three-part British miniseries Unforgiven.

Unforgiven, according to Deadline, “follows Ruth Slater (Bullock) who is released from prison after serving a sentence for a violent crime and re-enters a society that refuses to forgive her past. Facing severe judgment from the place she once called home, her only hope for redemption is finding the estranged younger sister she was forced to leave behind.”

Rob Morgan and Aisling Franciosi are joining the cast as well. Morgan can be seen in the 2019 Warner Bros. film Just Mercy alongside Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Foxx, while Franciosi can be seen in The Fall, a BBC Two-produced series starring Jamie Dornan and Gillian Anderson. Bullock will be among those producing Unforgiven.

Currently, Nora Fingscheidt is set to direct from a script written by Academy Award-winner Christopher McQuarrie.

So far there hasn’t been any information on the roles that Davis, Morgan, and Franciosi will be playing or any details on when the film will be released. If it is received anything like Bullock’s last major Netflix project, Bird Box, it will be a hit for sure. If you are unaware, last December Netflix announced that Bird Box had been streamed 48 million times within the first seven days of premiering on Netflix. Wowza. Hopefully Unforgiven will be as good.
