Veteran Entertainment Executive Lewis “Lew” Rothman Dead At 63

Veteran Entertainment executive Lewis “Lew” Rothman, who held top jobs at the Weinstein Company and Strategy PR, has died at 63. Known for his work developing PR strategies and consultancy, his sudden, tragic death caught many people off guard.

Rothman began his career in the early 90s with his wife, Serina Mayer, when they started a new media consultancy, Vibemaster, Inc., which was a tool that helped expand business opportunities between both entertainment and technology companies. Rothman was crucial in developing the first online commercial casting company, CASTNET, before later serving as chief technology officer for Atomic Pop, the first online record label.

Fast forward to 2006, Rothman worked as the film studio’s chief in the newly-formed Weinstein Company for a decade before moving to Strategy in 2016. Since then, he’s been widely known for his role as Head of Business Affairs and Operations for Strategy PR/Consulting, an entertainment PR agency specializing in awards for media entertainment.

At only 63, Rothman died unexpectedly in his home in East Hampton, New York. Apart from impacting the entertainment world, Rothman will also be remembered by his wife of 33 years, Serina, his daughter Raella, his sisters, Barbara Kreiger and Cheryl Ann Krane, and the rest of his family and friends who loved him as such. His loved ones will pay respects at The Jewish Center of the Hamptons on Jan. 5th, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. with open arms to anyone wanting to join. In Rothman’s memory, donations can be made to the following organizations: HIAS or The Art Barge.
