According to Hollywood Reporter, actress Vanessa Hudgens (Beastly, Grease Live!) will be teaming up with Leah Remini (The King of Queens, Old School) and Jennifer Lopez (Maid in Manhattan, The Back-up Plan). Deirdre Friel (A Secret Promise, Little Boxes) and Annaleigh Ashford (American Crime Story, Masters of Sex) will also perform in the film. There, they will all round out the cast of the rom-com, called Second Act, which currently has no specified love interest confirmed at the moment.
Pursued by the cast creators throughout the various stages of this project, Lopez will take on the role of the main protagonist, who has decided to make a major change and shift careers. While she never had the chance to pursue higher education like others in the field she is about to enter, she believes in herself and knows that her previous working experience will allow her to succeed in her new venture. As for Hudgens, her character will encounter Lopez’s within the business world. Currently however there is no longer description of their relationship, but it sounds likely that they will form a friendship through their connections in the job sector.
As of now, the film is still in the pre-production stage with no specified release date for the romantic comedy.
