The upcoming sci-fi movie Bios from Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment starring Tom Hanks has been delayed by four months from its scheduled date of April 16, 2021, now will be released on Aug. 13 instead. The original date was set for Oct. 2020, but the pandemic forced its delay.
Miguel Sapochnik directed the film, and he is best known for his work on HBO’s Game of Thrones. Craig Luck, with the help of Ivor Powell (The Dreamer), wrote the script.
The post-apocalyptic drama Bios follows the last man on Earth, an ailing robotics engineer named Finch (Hanks). When he faces death, he constructs an android to defend his beloved dog named Goodyear. Finch is one of the last few survivors of a cataclysmic solar disaster that has left the world a wasteland but has been living underground in a shelter for a decade and created a world all his own with his dog.
Caleb Landry Jones (The Outpost), Samira Wiley (Orange Is the New Black), Skeet Ulrich (Riverdale), and Laura Harrier (Hollywood) are also in the movie.
Hank’s latest movie, News of the World, came out on Christmas 2020 for Universal as well. F9 is slated for release on May 28, worth around $200 million, and Universal is expected to postpone the big-budget film.
